Runnymede campus sold off for new homes!

I just found out about this while noodling around on facebook . For those interested, Brunel University has agreed to sell Runnymede to 'Oracle Homes Runnymede Ltd' for £46.5 million: http://www.brunel.ac.uk/news/pressoffice/cdata/runnymede It seems that Oracle Homes is part of this company - http://www.oracle-group.com This saddens me. Is it too much to hope that 'the covenant by which the Cheylesmore family donated/sold the campus to London County Council before the war meant that it always had to be used for educational use', may be able to save Runnymede from a horrible 'new homes' future use? Anything we can do to stop them ruining the stunning buildings and grounds? A petition?

ET Run 20070523

Today I actually went on the Ellyptical Trainer again after such a long time. Taking it a bit easy to start with: 30 minutes, 262 calories, 2.06 miles. Also it was very nice to be featured on PodFinderUK episode 12. Thanks to Josephine and Co. The movie file can be found here .

Interruptions!

Had a nice chat with Andy this evening on Video Skype. Almost did an audio-chat with Paul earlier, too. Interruptions, of course, while I was trying to record a Slam Idol show, but very welcome. I really miss those guys. Hope we can record a 3-way podcast some time soon.

Thank IBIS for their WiFI

At last I've found some Wi-Fi access here in Dresden: in the foyer of an IBIS hotel they have a Vodafone hotspot, and it only costs me €6.95 for 30 minutes of lovely Wi-Fi! At last I can upload my latest video podcast. Sorry for the delay!

Britcaster Forum now closed

The Britcaster Forum closed last night. The end of an era. Jon Buckley, over at Citizen Scoop has done a very good job of compiling a commemorative podcast to mark this sad occasion. Warning, it contains a rather embarrassing contribution by me. Take a listen!

Poetic Audio-blogging challenge

Will Brown and I have embarked upon a challenge to write and record a poem for each others shows (Will's show is Cloudy Day Art ), and to record a daily audio-blog to document the progress. Will's blog is here , and the feed is here . I'm using my existing personal feed . The deadline is September 9th.
